Slade Stoller is an AANP Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Originally from New England, Slade started his career as a Fire Fighter and EMT. Feeling a pull towards healthcare, he pursued an EMS career running 911 and Critical Care Transports, which helped transition him into achieving a nursing degree. After several years working as an ER nurse in metro and undeserved areas, he experienced an impactful disconnect with the healthcare patient experience which led him to seek further education towards becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. Having practiced in between family medicine and urgent care in New England, California, and Colorado, Slade looks forward to sharing his compassionate and educational practice style with the Fountain community.

Slade has a rich history in providing healthcare assistance abroad, with travel to Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, and Belize. When not with a patient, Slade enjoys taking advantage of the Colorado outdoors with his wife and two dogs. He is passionate about wildlife conservation, and is an avid hunter and fisher. Favorite shows include River Monsters and No Reservations.

“A mentor of mine once said, “remember that the patient probably hasn’t read the same book you have.” Throughout my career in healthcare, I have developed a personal philosophy that centers around the importance of communication and education in providing care. Simply addressing the chief complaint is impersonal and often leads to missed opportunities for prevention. I feel that opening a guided communication with the patient often uncovers underlying concerns and issues. These discoveries offer an opportunity to provide the individualized education that I believe holds a stronger impact on the patient’s overall compliance towards positive health. I strive to approach my understanding of medicine in a way in which I may effectively explain its complexities to those who haven’t read the book.”
